Things to Do in Sri Lanka
Unforgettable activities beyond the traditional journey.
WATERSPORTS – BENTOTA
Sri Lanka is a great place for water sports and the waters are ideal for water skiing. Some of the bays naturally provide the rips required for surfing. Some areas in the world boast first-class diving whilst others are renowned for their sailing. But Sri Lanka is one such country which has all of these attractions and more. The 27°C/80°F warm waters around Sri Lanka’s coast encourage wonderful surfing, diving and snorkeling. The calmer inland waters offer wind surfing, water skiing, dinghy sailing and jet ski. Bentota is considered as the water sports hub of Sri Lanka. Most of the watersports can be enjoyed at Bentota.
WHITE WATER RAFTING – KITULGALA
Experience White Water Rafting in the picturesque Kelani River in Kitulgala. This activity is for anyone above the age of 10 years with safety gear and modern rafts. The distance covered is around 5 KM. The river and its surrounding will make you feel enchanted, with a memorable Experience during your White Water Rafting Tour in Kitulagala. Tours can be arranged for anything from 1 hour to a half-day including lunch.
BIRD WATCHING
Bundala National Park offers bird watching. In addition trekking in the rain forest of Sinharaja offers lots of Bird watching opportunities and the real feeling of one of the best rain forest in Asia. Discover unique endemic species in their natural habitats.

UDAWALAWA SAFARI
The most obvious thing to consider is what animals you’re hoping to see. If you want to see a leopard or sloth bear, then your choice is simple – pick Yala over Udawalawe. Alternatively, if seeing elephants is your priority, then Udawalawe is a safer choice – although sightings are still possible at Yala.
WHALE WATCHINGS
Sri Lanka is becoming one of the most successful places to see both blue and sperm whales, which can be found off the island’s southern coast. The best time to go is between December and April when the sea is calm and these spectacular mammals traverse the Sri Lankan waters.

Hundreds of Marine species of both corals and fishes are waiting for you to come say hello! With a coastline of about 1,585 kms, the mangrove ecosystem in Sri Lanka played a vital role in buffering the Tsunami waves of 2004. Discover shipwrecks and vibrant coral reefs hidden beneath.
